Stainless Steel Cut Wire Shot Conditioned

Conditioned (rounded) stainless steel cut wire is the premier peening abrasive, lasting four to five times longer than carbon steel cut wire shot and up to ten times longer than cast steel shot.

Why Conditioned Stainless Steel Cut Wire Shot?

Dust generation is significantly lower and blasting operations are much cleaner. It makes for a greener organization because the disposal of spent media is significantly reduced compared to other media. By using less shot, inventory requirements will be lower and inbound freight cost will also be less.

Its longer life means substantial cost savings.

When waste and waste disposal are of concern, stainless steel cut wire shot is the preferred blasting abrasive because of its long life. This long life means much less waste to dispose of, resulting in substantial cost savings.

It’s recyclable.

It also reduces freight and material cost on the inbound side because less material is required to replace spent material. Further, this stainless steel waste can most likely be recycled for use by another user or scrapped for a relatively high value.

It contains no appreciable amount of free iron.

Sometimes, ferrous (iron) contamination is not allowed on the work object. Stainless steel cut wire shot is great for peening non-ferrous work objects like aluminum, titanium, alloy steel and stainless steel.

It’s non-combustible.

Where dust collector fires are of concern, stainless steel cut wire shot is the preferred blasting abrasive because it produces the least amount of dust and is considered non-combustible, whereas carbon steel dust is considered combustible.
